About

Summit Ministry Internship

The Church rises and falls on leadership.

We’re glad you’re here, because we’re passionate about building up the next generation of church leaders and you’re probably researching internships because that’s what you sense God is calling you to be.  Throughout history the vitality of the church has been connected to the vitality of her leadership.  So we believe investing in people like you – the future pastors, planters and staff members of the church – is one of the most strategic ways we can invest in the kingdom of God.

We’ve designed the Summit Ministry Internship (SMI) to help you develop the knowledge, character, vision and skills necessary to lay a solid foundation for your calling.  As an intern, you’ll spend the months of July and August forming community with fellow interns as you use your gifts to make an impact through our Elevate Student Camp, ServeRDU initiative, and Triangle Kid’s Camp.

In August, you’ll be paired with a mentor who will help you develop the character and skills necessary to be a church leader, as you serve ten hours each week in one of Summit’s ministries.

As you gain practical ministry experience you’ll also participate in bi-weekly training designed to help you grow as a disciple, leader, Bible teacher and communicator.  To cap off the experience you’ll travel with the group to a national conference addressing church leadership.

When you graduate you’ll possess valuable ministry experience, a meaningful relationship with a Summit staff member and a group of great friends.  You can even earn seminary credit along the way.

“My internship experience has helped me lay a strong foundation for ministry. I’ve gotten to carry real responsibility and be guided by great teachers.”

Heather West

2016 Intern
