Whole Story Resources: Nehemiah

July 17, 2016 // Guides

The Whole Story Reading Plan is heading into the later histories of the Old Testament period. The historical context of books from Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachi is this: some of the exiled Jews have returned to Jerusalem to rebuild the city and the temple. Nehemiah is one of those Jewish leaders, and this book recounts his journey and his project to help rebuild the city.

Here is a two-page document that helps you read Nehemiah:  The Whole Story, Nehemiah. This overview was written by Jonathan C. Edwards (M.Div, Th.M), the Director of Curriculum for Docent Research Group where he also serves as a lead writer. He is the author of “Left: The Struggle to Make Sense of Life When a Parent Leaves,” available now. He and his wife Katherine live in Durham, North Carolina and attend the Downtown Durham Campus. You can follow him on Twitter. For more of his writing, visit www.NotThePuritan.com.”
